Frequently asked questions

Answers to the questions new and returning patients ask most.

Do I need a referral to see an endocrinologist?

It depends on your insurance. Many PPO plans allow you to book directly, while most HMO plans require a referral from your primary care physician. Check with your insurance company, and have any required referral sent to our office before your visit.

What does an endocrinologist treat?

Endocrinologists specialize in hormone-related conditions: diabetes, thyroid disorders, osteoporosis, PCOS, adrenal and pituitary disorders, parathyroid and calcium problems, and medically managed weight loss.

Do I need to fast before my appointment?

Not for the visit itself. If lab work is ordered, some tests are more accurate when fasting — we will tell you specifically if fasting is needed. If you have diabetes, do not skip meals or medications without instructions.

What should I bring to my first visit?

Bring your photo ID, insurance card, a complete medication list, and any recent lab results, imaging, or bone density scans. If you have diabetes, bring your meter, CGM data, or pump information.

How soon can I get an appointment?

Availability varies through the year. Request a time online through our scheduling page, or call us at (248) 825-3764 and we will find the earliest slot that works for you.

What insurance do you accept?

We accept most major insurance providers. Because networks change, please contact your insurance company directly to confirm coverage before your visit.

Can you prescribe GLP-1 medications like Ozempic or Mounjaro?

Yes, when medically appropriate. We evaluate whether these medications fit your health picture, handle prior authorizations with your insurance, and provide the ongoing monitoring these treatments need to work safely and effectively.

Where are you located?

We are at 1380 Coolidge Hwy, Suite 220, Troy, MI 48084, with free on-site parking. We see patients from across Metro Detroit, including Royal Oak, Birmingham, Rochester Hills, and Sterling Heights.
